Wheeling to Host 3rd Annual Hoops for Africa

     Wheeling High School will host its third annual Hoops for Africa event on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 12:30 p.m. in the school gym.  Hoops for Africa is a staff vs. student basketball game fundraiser, sponsored by Interact with Africa. 

     "Our goal is to raise at least $1,000 towards building a school in Angola, Africa," said WHS faculty sponsor, Sara Strauss, who leads the group with Mariola Sobol.  The $1,000 goal incorporates the $125 cost of educating each African student. 

     Wheeling's one Crucial Step Clique (CSC) will be performing at half time. Pizza and other concessions will be available. 

     The tickets are $3 in advance (sold during lunch hours at the school), and $4 at the door.  For more information, contact Strauss at sara.strauss@d214.org.
