Wheeling High School Proudly Announces IMEA Selectees
Wheeling High School is pleased to announce that numerous students from its music
Wheeling High School is pleased to announce that numerous students from its music department were selected to perform in ensembles for the prestigious Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) District VII this fall. Over 50 high schools, members of the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) District VII in Northern Illinois, sent students to audition for the 2012 IMEA District VII Honors Groups. The Concert Festival will be held at Glenbrook North High School on Saturday, Nov. 19, while the Jazz Festival will be hosted by Lake Zurich High School on Saturday, Nov. 17.
Wheeling High School Choir Members selected for IMEA include Lizzie Jassin (senior-alto), Marco Mazzetta (sophomore-bass), and Harlan Rosen (senior-bass).
Selected from the Wheeling orchestra is Adam Korber (senior-cello).

Wheeling band members who earned a spot in an IMEA group include the following: Chelsie Coren (senior-clarinet), Darby Dammeier (senior-flute), Cole Dammeier (sophomore-french horn), Omar Joya (senior-bassoon), Matthew Kulczak (junior-flute), Cesar Mendoza (junior-trombone), Kaitlyn Nielsen (senior-oboe), David Robertson (senior-trumpet), Ronny Roth (junior-trumpet), and Nicholas Westin (senior-percussion).
The IMEA Jazz Band selectees are: Jazz Band IV--Patrick Ryan (freshman-trumpet) and Bryan Marbin (freshman-bass trombone); Jazz Band III: Matthew Browne (freshman-vibraphone) and Isabel Chan (sophomore-piano); Jazz Band II: Omar Joya (senior-alto saxophone), Ronny Roth (junior-trumpet), and Anthony Gonzalez (freshman-trombone); and Jazz Band I: David Robertson (senior–trumpet) and Cesar Mendoza (junior-trombone).
