Wheeling High School Presents Donation for Breast Cancer Awareness to American Cancer Society

Wheeling High School nurse Lori Leska and members of the school's Medical Career Club

Wheeling High School nurse Lori Leska and members of the school's Medical Career Club presented a check to the American Cancer Society's Andy Fry on Nov. 13 for the organization's campaign, "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer."

The donation was the result of the school's Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser on Oct. 19, when staff and students wore PINK and also designated that evening's football game as a "PINK-OUT." Many student groups participated in selling baked goods and trinkets.  With the generous support of the parent-sponsored Spur Club, the Wheeling High School community was able to raise $1372.20.

Fry, on behalf of the American Cancer Society, presented Wheeling High School with a plaque in appreciation of its spirited effort for this worthwhile cause.
