Prospect's Show Choirs Named Grand Champions at Brodhead's "In the Spotlight" Show Choir Invitational

     Prospect High School's show choirs traveled to Brodhead, Wis., to compete in their first show choir invitational of 2013 on Saturday, Feb. 23, where they wowed the judges and audience with their performances.  At Brodhead High School's "In the Spotlight" competition, Prospect's Mixed Company, a group of 43 young men and women, directed by Jennifer Troiano, was named "Grand Champion" in the mixed division. The all-female group, Company, directed by Steven Colella, also captured the "Grand Champion" title in the unisex division. Prospect's Combo, which accompanies both Mixed Company and Company and is directed by Mitch Johnson, kept the winning trend going by being named "Best Combo" at the event. 

     Participants found the event to be "an emotional, wonderful experience," according to Prospect parent Ron Godby.

     Mixed Company also captured the award for "Best Choreography," and Prospect senior Franco Longobardi was named "Best Male Vocalist."

     On Saturday, March 2, Mixed Company, Company, Combo, and many solo performers will be competing in the “Chicagoland Showcase” at John Hersey High School.
