District 214's Finest Musicians Chosen for 2013 All-State Music Festival
Twenty-eight District 214 students have been selected among the finest high school
Twenty-eight District 214 students have been selected among the finest high school musicians in the state to perform in the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) All-State Festival on Jan. 23-26 in Peoria, Ill.
The following District 214 students have been chosen as All-State participants:
Buffalo Grove High School—junior Peter Kotecki—Band (clarinet); and seniors Megan Rullo--Band (bassoon), Michael Maley—Orchestra (double bass), and Joe Cavaiani—Vocal Jazz (tenor). Buffalo Grove music teachers are Edward Jacobi (Band), Debora Utley (Choir), and Elizabeth Bennett (Orchestra).

Elk Grove High School—junior Peter Pendowski—Chorus (bass); and seniors Taylor Barnes, Orchestra (viola), John-Paul Pendowski—Chorus (bass), and Sarah Barts—Future Music Educator Seminar—Band. Elk Grove music teachers are Ron Fiorito (Band), Sarah Catt (Choir), and William Baar (Orchestra).
John Hersey High School—sophomore Tiffany Chung—Orchestra (violin); juniors Mary Casagrande—Band (French horn), Jeremy Fuller--Band (bass clarinet), Josh Popivici—Band (trumpet), Serena Voltz—Band (tuba), Andrew Jones—Band (percussion), Kevin Kapinos—Jazz Band (trombone); and senior Hannah Drake--Band (Future Music Educator Seminar). Hersey music teachers are Scott Casagrande (Band), Sara Michael (Choir), and Joshua Stewart (Orchestra).

Prospect High School—junior Joshua Arshonsky–Chorus (bass); and seniors Adam Gough--Band (bass trombone), Philip Masini—Band (tuba), Eric Wood—Orchestra (double bass), Madalyn Bryant—Chorus (alto), and Caitlin Claytor—Chorus (soprano). Prospect music teachers are Chris Barnum (Band), Jen Troiano (Choir), and Patrick O'Connor (Orchestra and Jazz).
Rolling Meadows High School—sophomore Michael Priller—(Orchestra) (violin). Rolling Meadows music teachers are Chris Buti (Band), Caitlyn Walsh (Choir), and David Kohut (Orchestra).
Wheeling High School—juniors Matthew Kulczak—Band (flute), Ronny Roth—Band (trumpet); and seniors Chelsie Coren—Band (clarinet), Kaitlyn Nielsen—Band (oboe), and Adam Korber—Orchestra (cello). Wheeling music teachers are Brian Logan (Band), Stephen Colella (Choir), and Alex Meza (Orchestra).
