District 214 Students Display Work in 2013 Traveling Arts Unlimited Photo Show

The finest work of District 214's most outstanding photography students is now on display.

      The finest work of District 214's most outstanding photography students is now on display in a traveling exhibit, the Arts Unlimited Photo Show, which began Wednesday, March 6, in Buffalo Grove High School's (BGHS) Library. The exhibit is now making its way throughout all the other District 214 schools for viewing. 
     Approximately 150 pieces are included in the show, which was judged by photographer and photo teacher, Jeff Dionesotes, on Friday, March 8. Dionesotes spoke to BGHS photography students on the day he judged the show, and discussed and shared both a sampling of his professional work, as well as work by his students at Barrington High School. 

     Awards were presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as 15 honorable mentions. The winners are: 1st - Esteban Miranda, John Hersey High School (JHHS); 2nd - Katrina Espanola, Prospect High School (PHS); and 3rd - Anthony Valenti, Elk Grove High School (EGHS).

     Honorable Mentions were received by the following: Alex Galvez--Wheeling High School (WHS), Sky Baxter—JHHS; Ashley Bernard—JHHS; Dan Schrager—BGHS; Cassie Rynott--Rolling Meadows High School (RMHS); Jenny Klutts—RMHS; Gary Mendoza—WHS; Elsa Hannabarger—RMHS; Josie Sajbel—PHS; Patrick Stelmach—BGHS; Paige Crenshaw—EGHS; Jacob Rugoz—EGHS; Mark Ellis—BGHS; Breton Spiller—WHS; and Ryan Hanley—PHS.

     The exhibit will travel to WHS on March 18 for a week, followed by PHS on April 2, RMHS on April 9, EGHS on April 16, and to its last stop, JHHS, on April 23.
