District 214 Honors Orchestra’s 2012 Fall Concert Highlights Top Musicians

Many of the most talented musicians in the six schools of District 214 will perform in concert

Many of the most talented musicians in the six schools of District 214 will perform in concert on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 3 p.m. in Buffalo Grove High School's theater, as the District 214 Honors Orchestra takes the stage with director Patrick O’Connor at the podium. The students in this top-notch orchestra are selected by rigorous audition and make an impressive commitment, rehearsing regularly throughout the school year.

The hour-long program will include: Verdi’s La Forza del Destino Overture, Mahler’s Adagietto from Symphony 5, Mozart’s Wind Serenade in Bb, and Tchaikovsky’s Finale from Symphony 4.

There is no admission charge.  A free-will donation will be accepted at the door.  The donations will benefit the Annual Honors Orchestra Scholarship, awarded to one senior member of the orchestra who plans to continue on in music at the college level.
