Robert Yerkan, Rolling Meadows High School College Counselor, will host and facilitate "Ask the College" Night at Forest View Educational Center's Theater on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. Forest View is located at 2121 S. Goebbert Rd. in Arlington Heights.
All District 214 juniors and their parents are encouraged to attend the admission-free informational program for the college-bound. Attendees will learn what it is like to attend different types of institutions: the local community college, a four-year in-state public school, a four-year out-of-state public school and a four-year private school. Each presenter will share the student experience at his or her type of institution. There will be ample opportunity to ask the representatives any questions. The popular event has always been well attended and generates positive feedback each year.
This year's presenters represent the following colleges/universities: Tamara McClain, Recruiting Manager, Harper College, Palatine, Ill.; Ziggy Blackwell, Admissions Coordinator, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Ill.; Mike Ford, Admissions Counselor and Regional Recruiter, Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich.; and Maureen Kennedy Barney, Director of Midwest Admissions, Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey.
