Buffalo Grove's Student Council to Host Its Third Annual Dance Marathon
Buffalo Grove High School's gymnasium will be the site of the Student Council's Third Annual
Buffalo Grove High School's gymnasium will be the site of the Student Council's Third Annual Dance Marathon on Friday, Nov. 9, from 8-11 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go to a nationally recognized charity based in Palatine, Salute, Inc., that assists wounded and disabled soldiers returning from the wars in the Middle East. Salute, Inc., addresses the financial, physical and emotional needs of military service members, veterans and their families, striving to raise awareness of their sacrifices to ensure that they are treated with honor and dignity.
According to Student Council sponsor Rich Schram, the "fun and casual" event will feature teams of students participating in various dance games with the objective of being crowned the "dance champions." Teams will all receive t-shirts that they are required to personalize, in order to earn more points towards the games.
A new addition to the evening's festivities this year is a performance of the school's Orchesis dance group, directed by teacher Michelle Carrison.
