Buffalo Grove Student Council's 7th Annual "BG IDOL" to Benefit Autism Speaks

Buffalo Grove High School's Student Council will host its 7th annual BG IDOL charity event

Buffalo Grove High School's Student Council will host its 7th annual BG IDOL charity event on Wednesday, Dec. 12, during all three lunch periods in the school theater.  The popular musical competition showcases enthusiastic staff members who have volunteered to perform before a packed audience of students and staff, all in the name of raising funds for Autism Speaks.  Last year's event raised over $1,500 for this worthy cause.

Participating teachers, support staff and administrators need not stress about their vocal abilities, as the event is strictly entertainment for students who want to see their teachers belt out songs into a microphone, and perhaps, embarrass themselves a little. The real essence of the contest is to collect as much money as possible to fund research, raise awareness, and find a cure for autism and related disorders.

Each participating BG staff member will be given a bucket to collect money during the week before BG IDOL. At the end of the contest, collections will be tallied to determine the winners. All funds will be compiled by Student Council to present a check to Autism Speaks.
