Buffalo Grove Presents Its 34th Annual Pops Concert, "The Places We Go!"

parent organization, FOTO (Friends of the Orchestra), will present the 34th annual Pops Concert, The Places We GO!, on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m.  The school's gymnasium will again be transformed into a concert venue as family, friends, alumni, and community members sit at candlelit tables, listening to music that will take us to different places we visit throughout our life.  Whether it is going somewhere close by, such as out to dinner or to the arcade, or far away, as to charming Vienna - concertgoers will be transported to a variety of places during this exciting concert.   This year's concert finale will feature Beethoven's Symphony No. 5...in a very unusual and comedic style.  You won't want to miss it!

     The concert will feature Jazz Band I (directed by Ed Jacobi), "By Popular Demand" Vocal Jazz Ensemble (directed by Debora Utley), and the BGHS Full Orchestras, (directed by Elizabeth Bennett). 

     There will be raffle baskets, silent auction items up for bidding, and concessions.  Some of the items available for raffle and silent auction include four Disney Park Hopper Passes (a $500 value!), an evening out at Cooper's Hawk, hotel and restaurant outings, split-the-pot raffle, and many more!  Raffle tickets may be purchased prior to the event in the lobby and during the event at the back raffle tables.  Refreshments are available for purchase throughout the evening. 

     Prior to Nov. 3, admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students, age 5-18.  Tickets may be purchased the day of the concert with adult admission at $12 and $6 for students, age 5-18.  Children under age 5 are admitted free. Advance sale tickets may be purchased from any orchestra student, or by calling the orchestra office at (847) 718-4047 by Nov. 1.  Email the orchestra director at <elizabeth.bennett@d214.org> for more information.
