The Expressions, Buffalo Grove High School's award-winning show choir, has recently concluded another successful competition season.  In January, the Expressions competed at the Mt. Zion Invitational in Decatur, Ill., winning 1st Runner-Up and Best Band.  The group's second competition was at the DeKalb Show Choir Invitational in Auburn, Ind., where they secured another 1st Runner-Up award and Best Band.  Recently, the Expressions competed at the Chicagoland Showcase at John Hersey High School, again winning 1st Runner Up and also capturing Best Vocals.  The Expressions completed this year's competition season at the Wheaton Warrenville South Show Choir Classic on March 9, earning 2nd Runner-Up honors.

Individually, members of the Expressions racked up a number of awards this season, as well: junior Brian McCallister won Male Grand Champion in the individual solo competition at Mt. Zion, DeKalb and again at the Chicagoland Showcase; and senior Jessica Wolf was named Best Female Soloist in a Competition Show at both DeKalb and the Chicagoland Showcase.

The Expressions, a mixed show choir made up of 41 singer-dancers, 13 band members and four crew members, is directed by Debora Utley and choreographed by Randy Sage.  For information about the eagerly anticipated Expressions Big Show, please call 847-718-4000 during school hours.
