An outstanding student has been selected from each academic division at Buffalo Grove High School to be honored as the April 2014 Student of the Month.

Senior Teodor Ivanov of Buffalo Grove was nominated as the Career Technology Education (CTE) department’s honoree by robotics teacher Kyle Pichik and CTE Division Head Jeff Bott. The teachers stated, "'Teddy, a four-year student in Buffalo Grove's robotics program, has also taken multiple Project Lead the Way classes. He plans on launching his career in engineering by taking university classes in the field this fall. It is because of these and many other major accomplishments in his other academic areas that we have nominated Teddy for this honor."

The World Languages/Social Sciences/English Language Learners division has chosen junior Andres Lopez of Wheeling. World Language teachers Zaya Fusco and Barbara Meyers recognized Andres for his exemplary performance and attitude this year in both French 3 and Native Speaker Spanish 2. His teachers said, "Next year, Andres will be taking two AP language classes, French and Spanish. She is also very responsible, emailing me to find out what she will miss if she has to be absent. When she returns, she always has all of her work completed. Lastly, Dahae also excels academically, always scoring at the top of her class on quizzes and tests. I feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful student in my class."

Student Services has named freshman Geovanni Reyes of Wheeling as Student of the Month.  Individual Resource teacher Kurt Kutska remarked, "Geovanni's motivation and desire to improve academically is refreshing.  School success is his top priority.
