Former Le Titi de Paris Owners to Teach Culinary Series, 1st Class Starts Nov. 1

Food lovers in the area will get a gastronomical treat as District 214 Community Education welcomes the highly acclaimed, multi-awarded, and internationally trained husband and wife chefs, Susan and Michael Maddox, to its fold.

Susan and Michael Maddox are the former owners and operators of Le Titi de Paris in Arlington Heights and starting on November 1, they will teach the Fall Holiday Starters, Sides and Desserts Cooking Series, a three-part string of cooking classes, through Community Education's Continuing Education program.

The series will feature cooking demonstrations showcasing their very popular fall holiday recipes and knowledge. They will feature generous tastings of featured dishes and will have printed recipes available to take home.

"We are very excited to partner with Michael and Susan," said Teresa Palaggi, Continuing Education supervisor. "They are two of the most talented and versatile chefs in the county and having them teach three classes for District 214 Community Education underscores the quality of classes we offer our students."

The first class, Fall Holiday Starters (#4000), will allow generous sampling of Apricot and Boursin Cheese, Dark Dried Cherry and Brie Appetizer, Carmelized Onion and Wild Mushroom Pizza, amd Smoke Salmon and Dill Tartlet. This class will be on Thursday, November 1.

The second class, Fall Holiday  Sides (#4001), will feature Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes, Trilogy of Rye and Pork Stuffing, Green Beans with Autumn Pears and French Tarragon, and Mashed Pumpkin and Potatoes. This class will be on Thursday, November 8.

The third and last class, Fall Holiday Desserts (#4002), puts the icing on the cake! In this class, you will enjoy Door County Cherry and Bittersweet Chocolate Pot au Creme, Apple Pear Normandy Tart, French Macaroons, and Meringue Stars. This class will be on Thursday, November 15.

All three classes will be from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., in Room D102, at Forest View Educational Center. Prices are $49 for one class only and $125 for all three classes.
