SIMCHAT TORAH FLAG PROCESSION AND KINDERGARTEN CONSECRATION

Congregation Beth Judea-SIMCHAT TORAH FLAG PROCESSION AND KINDERGARTEN CONSECRATION

At 7:15 PM on Monday, October 8, Congregation Beth Judea, located on IL Route 83 and Hilltop Road in Long Grove, will hold their Annual Simchat Torah Flag Procession and Kindergarten Consecration ceremony in the synagogue's Main Sanctuary, directly after a 6:45 PM Maariv Prayer Service.

The Consecration of the 2012-2013 Kindergarten Class will start at 7:15
PM.  This ceremony is the confirmation that a child is now officially
enrolled in Jewish education -- the beginning of what will be a lifetime of Jewish education and learning.

The Kindergarten students are: Jonah Cooper, son of Alana and Billy
Cooper; Elena Cutler, daughter of Sheryl and Harold Cutler; Bethany Dragon, daughter of Rana and Matthew Dragon;Talia Duvel, daughter of Alyssa and Jim Duvel; Paige Fingerhut, daughter of Kristie and Mark Fingerhut; Arielle Gluck, daughter of Rachael and Michael Gluck; Joshua Goldwasser, son of Susan Weitzman and Richard Goldwasser; Hannah Levsky, daughter of Cheryl and David Levsky;    Abigail Levy, daughter of Staci and Michael Levy;    Asher Pinkus, son of Penny and Glenn Pinkus;    and Meredith Polonsky, daughter of Dana and Randy Polonsky.

The students and their teacher, Deborah Weiss, and the Vice President of Education, Gary Ernsteen, will be called up for an Aliyah.

   
Rabbi Jeff Pivo and Hazzan Roger Weisberg will conduct the evening's
activities  by completing the reading of the Torah with the last verses
from the Book of D'varim  (Deuteronomy), followed by the first verses from B'reishit (Genesis).   Those present will then be able to participate in the 'Hakafot' (processions) with the Torah scrolls and join in the
singing and dancing.

Traditional Simchat Torah Services will be held in the Main Sanctuary of Beth Judea on Tuesday, October 9 at 9:30 AM.  Non-members are always
