A Blueprint for Justice

The central goal of my campaign for State's Attorney is to rebuild a criminal justice system that is worthy of its citizens.

I’d like to thank you for reading the first in what will be a series of Patch posts discussing my candidacy for Lake County State’s Attorney.

This November, voters will have the opportunity to select a new face to lead the State’s Attorney office for the first time in 22 years. When I talk with voters all across the county, one message comes through time and time again. They want someone to fix our broken system. They are tired of what seems to be a never-ending cycle of missteps that have made our State’s Attorney’s office a national example of what can go wrong.

The central goal of my campaign is to rebuild a criminal justice system that is worthy of its citizens and of its many law enforcement professionals who are dedicated to doing what’s right. To do this, we need a new perspective and new ideas that will transform the office into something we can be proud of, but more importantly, keep our communities safe.

For more than a year, I have outlined a detailed set of measures that would restore public trust. An agenda that focuses on protecting the public, not an insider culture.

A Blueprint for Justice that would:

·     Create a Conviction Integrity Unit to review DNA evidence and prevent
wrongful convictions.

·     Enhance the focus on victims and their rights by establishing a Sex Crimes Unit

·     Demand accountability and transparency in an office that has isolated itself from the very people its supposed to protect.

In the coming weeks, I’d like to continue this conversation by further discussing, in detail, the solutions needed to restore trust in this broken system, and why I need your vote in November.

Chris Kennedy is a Libertyville attorney and Democratic candidate for Lake County State's Attorney. For more information, visit www.chriskennedy2012.com.

This absurd conversation takes away from the article by Chris Kennedy for Lake County States Attorney. Write them somewhere else!!!! Chris will make an excellent States Attorney. He owes no one any favors. He is not part of the entrenched States Attorney's office. Integrity is the one word we all hear often about Chris Kennedy.

Bumped for Great Justice?

Yep. Pretty impressive the way you hijacked this thread and wallpapered it, and about 20 other Patch articles with documents about YOURSELF. Too bad they have nothing to do with anything important. But nice to see you demonstrating that world-class arrogance and self-centeredness. What are you going to post next- baby pictures? Results of your cholesterol tests? Your 3rd grade spelling bee fourth place award? Your "You could already be a winner" letter from Ed McMahon and Pubisher's Clearing House?
