NEW LUXURY E-BAY CONSIGNMENT BUSINESS OPENS IN NORTHFIELD

ENCORE OUTFITTERS, INC. 464 Central Ave, Suite 4, has expanded with a luxury, e-bay consignment drop-off location in Northfield, IL. Opened on December 1st, they're operating under the name encorE-bay, accepting upscale apparel for men, women, teens and children, which they in turn sell for consignors on e-Bay. Founder and owner, Karen Kikos thinks everything has a value and before given away, donated or tossed, let Encore try selling it for you. Clients can just sit back, relax and earn money- they take care of everything! Plus there are fantastic buys on their e-Bay site underencore-bay

Encore Outfitters, Inc. started in February 2012 as a teen and collegiate retail consignment store in Glenview, IL.   Shortly thereafter,  Karen  recognized the trend towards e-commerce consumer purchasing, including consignment and resale items.  Hence, the birth of encorE-bay, which focuses solely on the quick sale of luxury items for men, women, teen & children.
encorE-bay sells any and everything upscale worn by both sexes and all ages, including clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, accessories, and coats.

Karen isn't new to the area or consignment industry. She's a Wilmette native and current New Trier parent. In 2009, her return to the workplace began at her sister's consignment store, where she learned the "in's and out" of the business.  "Having worked in sales and marketing for many years prior to becoming a stay-at-home mother of three, I always knew I wanted to own my own business but wasn't quite sure what type of business." She obtained another degree later in life in ornamental horticulture and intended for that to be her career choice, but was so intrigued with the consignment world and the wonderful people she'd met from all walks of life, that she thought she'd make a go of it. "I really feel like I've helped people in some small way during the tough economic times. Why not sell the things you no longer like, wear or fit into? Everything holds a value to someone and our goal is to get top dollar for your merchandise. In the unlikely event the item doesn't sell, it can be donated to one of three charities we've selected or returned."
Things however didn't go quite as planned with her store.  "As soon as I opened my retail consignment store I recognized that e-commerce was the better direction, with the ability to reach people all over the world.”

Initially she managed to do both retail and e-commerce, conducting e-Bay sales in the back room of her store during slower periods.  "I was working round the clock to get things done and the merchandise sold for my customers. It was exhausting but I loved every minute of it. I've since pulled away from accepting some merchandise, such as room decor and furnishings, to focus solely on luxury apparel." Her motto, "focus on one category and be the best."
