The Melting Pot Closes In Buffalo Grove

The fondue restaurant ends its 15-year run in the village.

closed for business today (Wednesday). Officials at the restaurant cited financial reasons for leaving Buffalo Grove, and said there are no plans to open new a location in the village.

Necessary renovations on the property combined with a limited time remaining on the location’s existing lease led to the decision to close, restaurant officials said in a prepared statement.

"We sincerely regret the impact this has had on our guests and our family of team members," the press release said.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to serve this community for the past 15 years."

The Melting Pot will remain open in Schaumburg, Downers Grove, Naperville and Chicago.

The Buffalo Grove building will soon be demolished. , will be constructed in its place. The property owner's lawyer has said that Noodles & Company will be among the new restaurants.
