Manicure and Merlot Event to Benefit Cancer Charity

The Best Salon and Spa will hold its annual fundraiser on Feb. 25. The event is open to the public.

The Best Salon and Spa will host its seventh annual Manicure and Merlot fundraising event from 4-9:30 p.m. Feb. 25.

Manicure and Merlot raises money to fight breast cancer. All proceeds are donated to The American Cancer Society.

The event is co-sponsored by The Lady Lifesavers, a team of eight local women who have raised more than $160,000 over the last seven years by walking in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and The American Cancer Society's Making Strides events.

Local merchants have donated more than $5,000 in raffle prizes, including a spa day for two.

“This is the most fun you will ever have on a Monday night in Buffalo Grove," salon owner Marilyn Wagner said.

Appointments are now being taken for salon services the day of the event. They will include manicures ($16), mini-pedicures ($25), pedicures ($35), a 30-minute massage ($40), one-hour massage ($65) and adult haircuts ($42).

Community members are encouraged to attend Manicure and Merlot even if they don't schedule a salon appointment. This event has raised more than $25,000 over the years, Wagner said.
