Make the Most of Black Friday at Local Malls

Woodfield

Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg isn’t wasting a minute of shopping time on Black Friday. Doors will open at midnight and all stores will be open, spokeswoman Carol Vesely said.

In addition to Black Friday sales at the individual stores, the mall is offering a couple of extra holiday promotions. The first 250 pajama-clad adults who enter through Door 1 at midnight will receive a $20 Woodfield Mall American Express gift card as well as a Santa hat. Door 1 is located on the lower level of the JCPenney wing, near Subway and Santa’s Treasure Chest.

Early morning shoppers can also qualify for a free shopping tote. Shoppers who show receipts totaling $100 in Black Friday purchases by 10 a.m. can pick up a bag at Guest Services in the center of the mall, while supplies last. 

Hawthorn

There's lots of fun in store for shoppers who decide to do some Black Friday shopping at Westfield Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills.

The mall will open its doors at midnight on Black Friday, and there will be giveaways throughout the early morning hours.

Between midnight and 5 a.m., DJ Midnight will host a holiday trivia contest, telling people where to find the best bargains and playing holiday music. DJ Midnight will be located in GAP Court. There, you can also enter to win one of the prizes that will be given away between 1 and 5 a.m.

1 a.m.: $350 in Westfield Hawthorn store gift cards
2 a.m.: Pandora charm and bracelet
3 a.m.: NOOK Color
4 a.m.: Coach purse

Shoppers are also encouraged to visit the Westfield Hawthorn Facebook page between 1 and 5 a.m. to find out the location of Santa's Little Helper, who will be giving away $20 Westfield gift cards. 

"When you find her, present her with your same-day Westfield Hawthorn store receipts totaling $250 or more and she'll give you a $20 Westfield gift card," according to the mall's Facebook page. There is a limit of one gift card per customer, while supplies last.

Deer Park

While Deer Park Town Center’s shopping center hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Gap, Gap Body, Gap Kids and White House|Black Market will open at midnight on Black Friday. Several other stores will open as early as 6 a.m.  For a complete listing of store hours, visit the Deer Park Town Center website.

The first 200 Facebook fans to arrive at the Center Office at 8 a.m. on Black Friday will receive a $25 Deer Park Town Center gift card and a Black Friday Survival Kit. The Survival Kit will include coupons and a $5 gift card to the new Red Mango Yogurt and Smoothies location. 

Gurnee Mills

Gurnee Mills will open at 4 a.m. on Black Friday and will remain open until 10 p.m. A disc jockey will play holiday music in Grange Hall.

The mall’s three-day “Holiday Super Sale” begins at 4 a.m. Friday. Participating stores, which will have red “Super Sale” signs in their windows, will offer discounts beyond their outlet store prices.

Ice House Mall

Barrington's Ice House Mall is marking the start of the holiday shopping season by welcoming new stores on Black Friday.

They include a Holiday Shop featuring more than 20 vendors for the holidays; Solisq, a vintage jewelry and women's accessory store; and Young Tootsies, which offers women's and children's shoes.

The stores will offer Black Friday specials, a spokeswoman said.

Randhurst

At the open-air Randhurst Mall in Mount Prospect, sales and events are posted online. Black Friday promotions include a 50 percent off sale at Carter’s. Shoppers who present a store coupon will receive an additional 10 percent off between 5 a.m. and noon.

As of Monday, the mall’s website did list any other Black Friday deals, and the site did not say whether the mall as a whole is running any Black Friday promotions. A spokeswoman did not respond to calls from Patch.
