Long Grove's Apple Haus Announces Closure

Store representative blames economy as Apple Haus closes its doors.

Long Grove's Apple Haus has closed due to the economy, the store announced today (Jan. 23) on its Facebook page.

"The decision to close has been a very hard one to make. We have been serving the community for 40 years and we are happy that we have been a part of your memories of visiting Long Grove!" a representative posted on the Apple Haus fan page.

"Please continue to support the small businesses in your area so that they don't meet the same fate that we did."

Today's announcement came about three weeks after the store shut its doors. A spokeswoman said at the time that .

Apple Haus' frozen pies and Chef Ivo products will continue to be sold at the Long Grove Confectionery, according to the store's Facebook page. Frozen pies will also be sold at the in Buffalo Grove, at Angelo Caputo stores, and via home delivery from and Oberweis.
