Buffalo Grove’s farmers market is being recognized as the most celebrated market in Illinois based on pledges from local supporters.
Buffalo Grove farmers market fans collectively pledged to spend $1,780 there in support of family farmers as part of American Farmland Trust's I Love My Farmers Market program. That support placed the village’s market 25th on a list of the nation’s 100 most celebrated farmers markets.
The pledges, which account for consumers’ promises to spend $10 at the market, were made over a three-month period this summer.
I Love My Farmers Market celebration is part of American Farmland Trust’s No Farms No Food campaign.
The Buffalo Grove farmers market runs from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Sunday through Oct. 6 in front of the Spray N’ Play water park.
