Brunswick Purchases eSkape, Building Closes for Remodeling

Buffalo Grove’s eSkape Entertainment Center closed its doors May 31, the same day Brunswick finalized its purchase of the facility, Brunswick announced Friday.

The company will remodel the facility over the next several months and will reopen it this fall as an upscale facility branded simply as Brunswick’s.

Bill Feldgreber, managing partner of eSkape, has been named Brunswick's director of sales for the Illinois market, the company announced. Brunswick’s will begin hiring its staff this summer.

Brunswick’s is expected to feature 32 bowling lanes, an expanded game room with up to 60 coin-operated machines and a laser tag arena.

Plans presented by Brunswick representatives last month also include expanding the existing patio to create an outdoor beer garden with a fire pit. Brunswick’s would also offer higher quality food, including paninis and burgers, in a proprietary Tavern ’45 restaurant and feature local craft beers.

Buffalo Grove’s Plan Commission, which reviewed the proposal last month, will review Brunswick’s specifics during a 7:30 p.m. meeting on June 5 at Village Hall. A public hearing will also be held that night regarding proposed signage at the facility.

The plans will later return to the Village Board, which will be asked to approve a special use permit for Brunswick’s.

Brunwick officials have said they expect to open the new facility at the end of October.
