Has Long Grove’s Apple Haus closed for good?

Area residents told Buffalo Grove Patch that the longtime business, known for its apple cider donuts and apple pie, shut its doors Wednesday.

A company spokesperson would not confirm Thursday that the store had permanently closed.

“We’re closed for inventory at this time,” said Ann Holterman, who serves as human resources manager at the Long Grove Confectionery.

The confectionery, along with Apple Haus, is owned by the Mangel family. Holterman said David Mangel, who runs the Apple Haus, had no further comment, but that additional information could be available next week.

Apple Haus, which served countless customers during in October, made no mention of the store closure Thursday on its Facebook page or its website. When the store’s phone number was dialed, a fax machine picked up.
