Award-winning debut author Amy Greene book talk & signing

Please join us for a free book talk and signing with award-winning author Amy Greene on Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Vernon Area Public Library in Lincolnshire, Ill.

Greene’s first book, BLOODROOT, was named a Top 10 Debut for 2010 on both Amazon.com and Booklist, and earned a listing in the NYT Sunday Book Review's Paperback Row earlier this month.

BLOODROOT is a multigenerational saga set amid the mountains and hollows of Appalachia. The story follows one impoverished family from the Depression to the present, tracing elements of magic, memory, faith and loss as they spill from one generation to the next. As Greene told one interviewer, "the discovery in the novel is that it is possible to take what’s good from the life you’ve lived and move forward, and leave the rest behind."

Greene lives in the foothills of eastern Tennessee's Smoky Mountains with her husband and two children, where the culture and traditions of Appalachia influence her writing. She is an Op Ed contributor to the New York Times.

Greene’s appearance at the Vernon Area Public Library promises to be a charming afternoon. Refreshments will be served. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event courtesy of Lake Forest Book Store.
