Canceled: Encore to Perform on TV Friday Morning

Buffalo Grove's traveling Encore choir will sing Friday morning on CBS news.

Friday's performance has been canceled due to the expected snow storm, the Buffalo Grove Park District announced this afternoon. CBS 2 Chicago has notified the park district that it will not film Encore tomorrow because it expects to need its cameras for snow coverage, park district staff said.

Encore, the traveling ensemble of the Buffalo Grove Park District's BG Singers choir, will perform holiday songs during CBS 2 Chicago's Friday morning news broadcast.

The performance will include selections from Encore's holiday show. The choir will also promote its effort through The Manilow Project to collect musical instruments to benefit children who lost theirs in Hurricane Sandy.

The choir is expected to sing multiple times between 5:30-7 a.m.

Encore also performed on CBS last year, shortly after winning the national 2011 Sing! competition. The choir donated its winnings to the Laurie S. Bauer Foundation.
