Buffalo Grove Art Festival to Include Suburban Artists

The juried show will feature art from nearby artists, as well as exhibitors from across the nation.

Buffalo Grove's Invitational Fine Art Festival will include work from some nearby residents.

Among the local artists are:

  • Howard Tatar of Highland Park, who will showcase and photography inspired by nature;
  • Gerda Davalle of Barrington, who will offer one-of-a-kind fiber designs;
  • Weichen Lin of Barrington, who will present paintings;
  • Jeffrey Van Der Koon of Palatine, who will exhibit photography.

They will be among more than 140 artists who will sell paintings, sculptures, woodwork, ceramics, photography, jewelry, glass, fine crafts and more from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22 at the Buffalo Grove Town Center, at the northeast corner of Lake-Cook and McHenry roads.

And OPENING the Arts Festival will be a FREE concert on Friday Night, July 20 at the Rotary Green in Buffalo Grove: For the third year the Buffalo Grove Jazz Band will be OPENING THE BUFFALO GROVE INVITATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL, sponsored by the Buffalo Grove Roatary. Featured will be great Big Band tunes ranging from Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman to Maynard Fersuson and Buddy Rich, as well as Steely Dan and others! Led by clarinetist Howard Green, the Jazz Band this year will feature it's new vocalist, Leah Novak! Pack a picnic basket, grab the lawn chairs, and begin our celebration of the Arts in Buffalo Grove this Friday at 7 pm at the Rotary Village Green.
