American Idol Results: Haley Eliminated

Haley Reinhart was eliminated from American Idol after an impressive run on the Fox series.

Haley Reinhart's run on American Idol came to an end Thursday.

The Harper College student and Wheeling High School graduate was eliminated from American Idol after 95 million votes were cast following Wednesday's program. It was the most votes ever cast for a non-final episode of American Idol.

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will compete next week to see who is this year's American Idol.

Reinhart's journey on the show began after an audition in Milwaukee. Early on it appeared that Reinhart might make an early exit from the program, finishing among the bottom three in votes four times. But, Reinhart perservered.

"This is the biggest platform anybody could ask for," Reinhart said, after the results were announced. "I rocked it out and I had a blast

Reinhart, 20, attended in 2009 and 2010 . She also performed with Harper's Jazz ensemble and sang at the college's annual Dinner and Jazz concert.

Reinhart's first performance Wednesday was "What is & What Should Never Be" by Led Zepplin. Her father accompanied her on guitar. Reinhart fell down toward the end of the performnce, but got back up without missing a beat and continued on.

In her second performance Reinhart sang "Rhiannon" by Fleetwood Mac. Her third song was "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morissette.
