Your Guide to Buffalo Grove Days 2013

Carnival rides, games, food, beer, music, shopping and more.

Buffalo Grove Days, which runs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2, will feature five days of entertainment including live music, a carnival, food and beverages, shopping and more.

Below is a partial list of events. Find the complete event schedule, including the full entertainment line-up, on the Bufalo Grove Days website.

Thursday

The fun begins Aug. 28 with a charity softball game at Emmerich Park and gets in full swing Aug. 29 when the beer garden opens at 5 p.m. and the carnival and food tents open at 6 p.m. The carnival will run until 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, while the food tent and Bingo tournament will conclude at 10:30 p.m. and the beer garden will close at 11 p.m.

Friday

Friday’s carnival will run from 6-11 p.m., while food will be served from 5-11 p.m. and the beer garden will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Saturday

On Saturday, visit the blood drive at the Alcott Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., check out the disc golf tournament at Willow Stream and Twin Creeks parks from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and swing by the arts and crafts fair, dog show and business fair, which all open at 11 a.m. The carnival, food tent and beer garden will all open at noon. Food will be served and rides will run until 11 p.m., and the beer garden will close at midnight.

Sunday

The fun continues Sunday with the Buffalo Grove Stampede 5K/10K at 8 a.m. at Mike Rylko Park. The Buffalo Grove Rotary Club’s pancake breakfast will run from 8-11 a.m., on the municipal campus, while the arts and crafts fair will be open to shoppers from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The carnival and food tent will be open from noon to 11 p.m., while the beer tent will run from noon to midnight. The Buffalo Grove Days parade will begin at 1 p.m. at Bernard and Regent drives. Spectators can watch from Bernard Drive east to Raupp Boulevard, and on St. Mary’s Parkway north of Raupp. A fireworks show will begin at 9:15 p.m.

Monday

Monday’s carnival is exclusively for people with disabilities from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., when it will open to the general public. Rides will run until 6:30 p.m. The arts and crafts fair will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the business fair will be open from noon to 4 p.m. and food will be served by limited vendors from 12:30-4 p.m. The Buffalo Grove Rotary Club’s duck race will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Raupp Bridge.
