A small plane crashed Tuesday night in Wheeling near Chicago Executive Airport, according to multiple media reports.
The plane struck a tree near the Foxboro apartment complex around 8:30 p.m. June 25 near Hintz and Wolf roads, the Journal and Topics reported. The intersection is just north of the airport’s main runway.
The plane, which was from Tennessee, was attempting to land in Wheeling, the Daily Herald reported.

The pilot exited the plane unharmed, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. No bystanders were injured and no buildings were damaged, the paper reported.
