Patch Editor Says Goodbye, Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove Patch Editor Cristel Mohrman says thank you and goodbye to Buffalo Grove.

Thank you, Buffalo Grove.

When I arrived on the scene in mid-2010, Patch was new to Illinois. No one around here had heard of the brand and it was up to me to spread the word in Buffalo Grove.

I was tasked with getting to know the workings of this town, connecting with its leaders and everyday citizens, and convincing them to let me share their stories through a new forum.

“I guess we’ll see if people will go online for local news,” one person told me, with more than a hint of doubt in his voice, just before this site launched. I remember who that person was. He quickly became a loyal Patch fan, as did so many others.

Buffalo Grove, from the start you exceeded my expectations. You flocked to Patch’s Facebook and Twitter pages, you turned to this site as a trusted news source, you connected with your neighbors on Patch’s comment boards, and you shared your lives with me.

Thank you.

There is so much more I’d like to say and so many more of your stories that I’d like to tell. There are so many changes in progress in the village, and I wish I could be the one to tell you how everything works out.

While I’m sad to say goodbye as your local editor, I look forward to seeing where life’s adventure takes me next. And, when we see each other around town, I’d love to hear where it’s taking you.

Sincerely,

Cristel Mohrman
