Manicures and Merlot

Local merchant hosts a fun night for the ALS Les Turner Foundation

There's Monday night football, Monday night carpools and now there's Monday night Manicures and Merlot at The Best Salon and Spa in Buffalo Grove.

Owner Marilyn Wagner is hosting a "fun and fabulous evening to raise funds to help find a cure for Lou Gehrig's Disease."

On Monday, October 4th, from 5-10 p.m., The Best Salon and Spa will be the place to enjoy spa services, good food and wine, boutique vendors, live music and raffle prizes.  All profits will be donated to the ALS Les Turner Foundation.

ALS, also know as Lou Gehrig's Disease, has touched Marilyn's life directly as she has a good friend who was diagnosed with this devastating disorder.

Marilyn has lived in Buffalo Grove for 25 years and has owned The Best Salon for 28 years. She tells me, "Last year, this event was so much fun, I had to kick em' out at 10 o'clock." About 200 people will fill her salon, with about half getting spa services and the other half there to support her, support ALS and enjoy a fun night out.

It's heartwarming to know that we have merchants in our midst that are so willing to give their time, energy and evening's profits to such a worthwhile cause.
