Long Grove Turkey Trot Scheduled for Thanksgiving Day

Course takes participants through the streets of the historic village.

The Village of Long Grove will host the fourth annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot at 9 a.m. Nov. 24 under Long Grove’s historic covered bridge. Participants have the option of joining a 5K or 8K run/walk or kids, 14 and under, can dash in the Tiny Trot (which starts at 9:45 am), through the village’s streets.

A new faster and more scenic USATF certified course has been laid out for this year's Turkey Trot. In addition to scenic landscape, runners will be taken through the Village of Long Grove. Some stores will be open for the run, including Viking Treasures, Amers Gallery, The Country House, Ma & Pa’s Candy, The Peppermint Stick, Mangel Gifts, The Woodland Grove Gallery, Trillium, Beans & Leaves Coffee & Tea Café and The Cedar Grill.

The registration fee varies by race, and is offered at a reduced rate if completed prior to Nov. 22. Registration is available online at http://www.allcommunityevents.com/long_grove_turkey_trot/lgttreg.html.
