Community Corner

YMCA Spooky Halloween Party

The North Suburban YMCA will continue its annual tradition of welcoming the community for some frightful fun at its Fifth Annual Halloween Party on Sunday, October 28. The entire Y facility, located at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook, will be transformed to provide a wide variety of Halloween activities suitable for all ages. The party runs from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, with exclusive early access for families of special needs children from 1:00 to 2:00.

The 2012 party will bring back many favorite elements of years past, including the spinetingling Spooky Pool Boat Ride. Guests with a lower tolerance for terror will enjoy indoor trick-or-treating, inflatable bouncy houses and obstacle courses, seasonal art projects, a DJ dance party, costume contests, and two haunted houses -- one kid-friendly and one extra-creepy. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase.  Complimentary photo booths will provide souvenirs of each family’s visit.

Admission to the party is free for Y members, $10 per family for non-members.  The Y is located at 2705 Techny Road, just east of Pfingsten Road, in Northbrook.  Special black-and-white signs on surrounding streets direct visitors to routes that avoid Techny Road construction.
