Come on Baby Light My Fire: Orren Pickell Designers & Builders Teams Up with Long Grove Fire Department for a Controlled Burn

For the past 30 days, the Village of Long Grove Fire Department has been conducting small controlled burns in a dilapidated home in Long Grove owned by Orren Pickell Designers & Builders, which was intended to be torn down.  Few firefighters have the opportunity to experience what happens in a home during a fire, so the custom home builder offered the residence as a place to train the firefighters and replicate what happens in an authentic setting. 

On Saturday, September 17, the Fire Department will completely set the home ablaze in a controlled burn.  Residents and neighbors are invited to witness the demolition and watch as the firefighters quell the fire.  Refreshments will be severed and firefighters will be on-hand to answer any questions about the process.

Family and friends are invited to witness the fire during this educational demonstration!
