Dance and Sweat for a Good Cause

The Sweatshop in Buffalo Grove is a new, fun place to workout.

The infamous Richard Simmons had the right idea when he helped people “Boogie Down the Pounds” or showed them how to start “Sweatin’ to the Oldies.” Dancing is a great way to sweat off the pounds and lose weight.

Matt Kuhlman, a Buffalo Grove native and graduate is a personal trainer who has turned his passion of fun workouts into a charitable event.

After running a small personal training gym in Buffalo Grove, he decided to move out on his own to a new BG location and open The Sweatshop.

Matt said his Sweatshop is the most affordable, effective, and fun way to get into shape. What I found unique in his approach to training was the way he runs his facility. He said, “We’re different because with us you never need an appointment and you're never running late. Clients can come in when it works for them, whenever it fits into their schedule. Within the training hours, clients can come when it's convenient for them, and I'm always there ready to give them an amazing, fun, and effective workout specific to their goals and limitations.”

Client Linda Frank said, “Matt is the most fun, experienced, sensitive trainer out there. He makes the work outs so much fun, he is very creative and makes training a joy. I leave there feeling great and wanting to go back.”

Now, The Sweatshop, only four months old, is giving back to the community with a charity Dance-A-Thon on Sunday April 10th from 10:30 a.m. to noon that will benefit the food pantry. There is no entrance fee for the Dance-A-Thon, he’s just asking for each person to bring at least one non-perishable food item.

Matt boasted, “It's going to be like no other workout that you've experienced before and it's for a great cause. Our mission is simple: donate a ton of food and burn 1,000 calories in 60 minutes while having the most fun that you've ever had working out.”

If you’ve got time on Sunday, check it out. Dance, sweat and help the Vernon Township food pantry at the same time.
