Marilyn Wagner is at it again.
Throughout the year she runs a variety of fundraisers, including the annual Manicure and Merlot event at her salon, The Best Salon and Spa, to support cancer-related charities.
But she's spending this weekend at her Buffalo Grove home, where she's running a garage sale to raise more money for the causes.
Clothing, exercise equipment, jewelry, toys - some still in their original wrappers - household items and, of course, hair and nail products, fill her driveway and garage at 803 Old Checker Road.
Wagner holds the sale almost every summer, she said. The items for sale are all from her home or from family members. (The Spider-Man pinball game was donated by her grandson, she explained.)
Money from the sale will be donated to the Lady Lifesavers, a group of local women who participate in cancer walks throughout the year.
The garage sale, which began Friday, will continue from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Bargain-hunters can't miss the location; just look for the life-size cutout of Wagner at the end of the driveway.
