20,000 ComEd Customers Without Power in Northern Illinois

The northern region includes Buffalo Grove and surrounding villages.

The storm that ripped through the area Tuesday morning left about 20,000 Commonwealth residential and businesses customers without power in northern Illinois as of 8 a.m., according to a ComEd spokesman.

“We have deployed crews, they are going to the areas impacted by the storm," Tony Hernandez, ComEd spokesman said. "Once they get on site and determine whether they need to clear tree debris they will start restoring power as soon as possible.”

Among the affected customers are 55 customers just southeast of the intersection of Dundee and Buffalo Grove roads, 17 customers near Lake-Cook Road and Bernard Drive, fewer than five customers near Raupp Boulevard between Dundee and Lake-Cook roads and small pockets of customers near Buffalo Grove Road and Route 22.
