Upcoming FREE Buffalo Grove Symphonic and Jazz Band Concerts - July 4 and 11

The Village Newsletter and all other publicity didn't mention this in any of it's many pages but I thought everyone should know about a couple of upcoming tremendous performances by Buffalo Grove's own Buffalo Grove Symphonic and Jazz Bands.

First - JULY 4TH!! The Fireworks Display Co-sponsored by the Village and Siemans at 9:15 will be preceded (as it has for the past 13 years!!) by a 2-hour concert by the 70-member Symphonic Band sponsored by the Village's Rotary!!! This dedicated group of musicians will be onsite in full force at 6 pm at the Rotary Green (behind Town Center and the Post Office) for a 7 pm performance of all American music celebrating the holiday with Marches, Music from Broadway, Disney, Warner Brothers Cartoons, and much more.

Of course we will be honoring all branches of the Military.

Kids will get an opportunity to conduct the Band and as a matter of tradition and pride we will lead into the Fireworks with the 1812 Overture, America, and Stars and Stripes Forever. All FREE!! We usually get 2000-3000 attendees so bring your blankets and lawn chairs and a picnic basket early, stake out a place, and start your Independence Day celebration while it's light with a wonderful old-fashioned concert in the park.

AND..... the Buffalo Grove Arts Festival. I bet you thought it starts on Saturday, July 12th. Guess what? It REALLY kicks off at 7 PM at the Rotary Green on FRIDAY, JULY 11 with a kick-off concert by the Buffalo Grove Jazz Band with guest vocalist Lea Novak!!!! Celebrate ALL the Arts by coming to this free concert. This will be the 4th year the Jazz Band (sponsored by the Buffalo Grove Rotary) has kicked off the festival. As always you will hear Big Band music from Artie Shaw to Stan Kenton and beyond. We promise we will have you dancing, tapping your toes, and enjoying yourselves immensely!

Both these concerts will be brought to you by the 70 talented and dedicated members of the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band and the Buffalo Grove Rotary for your family's entertainment. We hope to see you there!!!
