Sedgebrook Welcomes New Executive Director

With experience in senior living dating back more than two decades, Deann Daniel said that she was most drawn to Sedgebrook because of its strong sense of community.  The former Colorado resident became the executive director of Sedgebrook on July 1st. “I’m really excited to be part of this warm and beautiful community,” she said.

Daniel’s early work experience was in hospitality and she quickly gravitated to senior living. “I started in sales and marketing and eventually moved into operations,” she said. “Most recently I opened a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) for Vi Living in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. “ 

Daniel said that she loves working in senior living. “I pride myself in working with residents and listening to them about what we can do to enrich their life. My objective is to make this the best possible home for them, while running a sound business,” she said.  In addition to her extensive experience in hospitality and marketing, one of her greatest strengths she said is her commitment to customer service. 

Daniel’s husband was born and raised in Chicago where most of his family still lives.  For the past several years, the couple has been hoping to return to the area.  When Daniel learned about the executive director opportunity at Sedgebrook, she was very excited. “I was of course familiar with the owners, Senior Care Development and the management partners Life Care Services, both of whom have excellent reputations,” she said.   “And Sedgebrook’s campus is so beautiful.”

In addition to being warm and welcoming, Daniel has found that the residents and staff are very devoted to Sedgebrook.  “There are so many that have been here since the very beginning. They are really invested in the community. I love the longevity,” she said,

Daniel describes herself as being “passionate about what I do. I’m passionate about providing the best living environment for the residents, and work environment for the employees,” she said.
