Cold Weather Closes Buffalo Grove Schools Monday, Tuesday

Buffalo Grove area schools and a library will be closed Monday due to cold temperatures. Some school districts have already canceled class for Tuesday, too.

Buffalo Grove area school districts and the Vernon Area Public Library have announced closures due to the extremely cold weather.

Schools in District 21 will be closed both Monday and Tuesday, the district announced Sunday on its website

School District 214 will also be closed Monday and Tuesday, according to its website.

Stevenson High School will be closed Monday. Classes are expected to resume Tuesday, according to the school's website.

Classes have also been canceled Monday in District 96District 102District 103 and St. Mary School.

Vernon Area Public Library will also be closed Monday.

Monday’s temperature is expected to reach a high of -3, according to the National Weather Service. Wind chill values will be as low as -27. Similar temperatures are forecast for Tuesday.

On Monday, January 27th, School District 103 schools and offices will be closed due to the extreme cold. The 103 Club will also be closed.

The Vernon Area Public Library will be closed on Monday, January 27, due to the expected severe cold. Due dates and holds will be extended accordingly. No items will be due on Monday and no fines will accrue.
