 ousing planning\nThrough the "Homes for a Changing Region" project\, fiv
 e northwest suburban communities will engage the public around strategie
 s to meet each community&rsquo\;s future housing needs.\nThe public is e
 ncouraged to attend interactive workshop events in June in Arlington Hei
 ghts\, Buffalo Grove\, Mount Prospect\, Palatine\, and Rolling Meadows. 
 Each Homes for a Changing Region event will bring area residents togethe
 r to start creating a collective vision for future housing in their comm
 unity.\nCommunity leaders and citizens alike will participate in a board
  game-like exercise\, through which participants work together over larg
 e maps and use game pieces representing different types of housing devel
 opment to indicate how and where the village's expected residential grow
 th should occur. The results will be used to guide strategies in each co
 mmunity that support a balanced mix of housing types\, serve the needs o
 f existing and future residents and workers\, and enhance livability.\n&

 r housing needs\,&rdquo\; said Irvana K. Wilks\, Mayor of the Village of

  presenters who have gathered demographical data about Mount Prospect an
 d surrounding areas.&nbsp\; Then we will explore new ideas the attendees

 icago Metropolitan Agency for Planning's Local Technical Assistance (LTA
 ) Program\, in partnership with local communities\, and with support fro
 m the Metropolitan Planning Council. In recent years\, Homes for a Chang
 ing Region has collaborated with leaders from Aurora\, Blue Island\, Gur
 nee\, Libertyville\, Montgomery\, Northlake\, Oak Forest\, Plainfield\,
