Chicago based Divas N’ Design Choose the Winner of a Personalized M.O.M Cave Valued at $20,000!

CHICAGO, IL (JUNE, 2012) – Divas N’ Design have chosen a winner of their “M.O.M Cave” contest! Stacie Shanks of Buffalo Grove received a custom made M.O.M Cave worth $20,000! The old saying goes “A woman’s work is never done” and when it comes to being a mom AND a working professional, Stacie exemplifies a hard working individual who deserves her own sanctuary to unwind and just “be.”

Stacie, a single mom, is thrilled to have been chosen the winner of a relaxing and inspirational room to call her own. Working as a full-time waitress at Wildfire Restaurant in Lincolnshire, Stacie works as best as possible to divide her time between work and home and was picked the winner by a panel of judges who found her story the most inspiring out of over 20 nominees.

She recalls feeling truly overwhelmed when she found out she had won this prize, because “things like this never happen to me.” The ladies of Diva N’ Design visited Stacie at home to size up the area, and learn about Stacie’s general design preferences and favorite colors. No exact themes were discussed, as the designers surprised Stacie with their own creative concepts based on her preferences that include color palette, décor style, personalized items and creative storage.

Living with two young boys, Stacie is excited to feel that she is finally getting full use of her home. Her two sons, ages 14 and 8, have lots of energy, often playing games like kickball in the house! She is thrilled to now have an area within her home that exemplifies who she is.

Making this M.O.M-Cave creation possible are several local vendors including: Liz Chazen Artistry by the Chazen group for painting needs (including a personalized mural), Chicago Furniture Source, Closet Organization (Deedee Glaser), H&D Electric (Christo Dimtrov) for lighting & picture hanging, Stitchwork’s (Mary Aileen Rikardsen) Window Treatments and Photography by E2 Photography (Steve Seeling).
