Buffalo Grove High School's theater stage will be transformed into Charles M. Schultz's iconic "Peanuts" comic strip, Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 25-27, as the fall musical, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, is presented. Clark Gesner penned the book, music and lyrics, based on Schultz's beloved characters. Curtain times are 7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The production includes all the classic songs such as "Happiness," "Suppertime, "The Baseball Game," and the title tune. Will Charlie Brown ever find the courage to talk to the little red-haired girl? Will Linus give up his blanket? Will Snoopy figure out the meaning of life…. from the roof of his doghouse? Will Lucy always be a know-it-all and constantly point out Charlie Brown's shortcomings? In average day moments from Valentine's Day to baseball season, the entire spectrum of what it means to be human is explored: from optimism and despair, to uncertainty and hopefulness.
Brian McCallister plays Charlie Brown, Grace Baird is Sally Brown, Alyssa Gillespie is Lucy Van Pelt, Jim VanDerBosch is Snoopy, Alec Sabbath is Schroeder, and Cole Festenstein is Linus Van Pelt.
