The Cost of Buffalo Grove Days

A report detailing all income and expenditures from the 2012 event has been released.

 

When all was said and done, the village paid $27,502 for Buffalo Grove Days this year.

The figure was what remained when the expenses and revenues from the five-day event were tallied. They include costs associated with the carnival, entertainment, parade and fireworks.

A report presented this month to the Village Board shows that spent $142,545 on the carnival, $50,670 for musicians and other carnival entertainment, $40,879 for equipment rental, $20,000 for fireworks, $8,810 on parade entertainment and $16,440 on other items, ranging from ice to advertising. Income included $222,319 from the carnival, $16,005 from parade fees and donations from businesses and individuals, $6,618 in vendor fees, $6,290 in craft show fees and $610 from glow necklace sales.

The overall event came in below the village’s $39,000 budget. In 2011, Buffalo Grove Days cost the village $39,532.
