Schmerer Receives Park District Award

Buffalo Grove Park District treasurer Jack Schmerer received the IAPD's Master Board Member award.

Jack Schmerer, treasurer of the Buffalo Grove Park District, received the Master Board Member award from the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) at its annual conference held recently at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

Schmerer received the honor as part of the IAPD Board Member Development Program, which recognizes committee involvement, pursuit of board member educational opportunities, legislative advocacy and achievements at the local, state and national levels in the field of parks, recreation, and conservation.

“Master Board Members have gone above and beyond the call of duty as park commissioners,” said Peter Murphy, IAPD’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Jack is an extremely dedicated park board commissioner who is motivated to improve the quality of life through parks, recreation, and conservation both locally and statewide. We are fortunate to have his expertise in furthering the park and recreation mission in Illinois.”
