Police Blotter: Visitor Impersonates ComEd Representative

COMPLAINT

A resident of the 900 block of Hidden Lake Drive reported that a woman came to his door claiming to be a ComEd representative at 5 p.m. March 19. The woman stated that there was a problem with the resident’s bill and she wanted him to retrieve it. The resident then called ComEd, who told the resident that no one had been sent to his house. The resident told the woman that she was not sent by ComEd and she left. An officer checked the area but could not locate the woman.

A resident of LeJardin Court reported at 7:40 p.m. March 19 that a noise was coming from her neighbor’s unit and said the noise keeps the resident up all night. The resident has attempted to speak with the neighbor, but no one answers the door. An officer attempted to make contact but no one answered and no phone number was available. The resident was referred to the homeowners association for follow up.

LOST ITEM

A resident reported at noon March 19 that he lost his black window wallet. He did not know when or where he lost it. The resident was given the paperwork to obtain a duplicate driver’s license.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A complainant reported March 15 that he and his cousin were doing work at Extended Stay America, and when the complainant assigned the cousin a task, the cousin responded by challenging the complainant to a fight. The complainant drove the cousin home and advised him that he is fired. The cousin has called and sent numerous text messages. The complainant wants the incidents documented but does not want the police to contact the cousin.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A Jimmy John’s manager reported that parking signs in front of the store were pushed over by someone or something between 9:30 p.m. March 18 and 8 a.m. March 19.

THEFT

A Dominick’s employee reported that a man placed two items into his jacket and left the store without paying at 10:35 a.m. March 19. The person left in an older brown four-door vehicle with a partial license plate of “KA.”
