Police Blotter: Two Hospitalized After Hotel Fight

ALARM

Officers responded to an active alarm at 9:35 a.m. May 5 on the 1300 block of Barclay Boulevard and found a door unlocked. The interior was checked and was found in order. The door was secured and a message was left for an official.

David Ordaz, 28, of the 1200 block of Lota Court, Wheeling, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license, speeding, driving without insurance and no seat belts at 2:30 a.m. May 6 on westbound Dundee Road at Arlington Heights Road.

ANIMALS

A resident of the 900 block of Pine Tree Circle South reported that her upstairs neighbor’s dog barks at all hours, day and night. An officer did not get an answer at the neighbor’s door. The dog was not barking when the officer left. A message was left for the neighbor. Nine previous complaints have been made.

COMPLAINT

A resident reported that his neighbor’s son was skateboarding on his driveway at 7:55 p.m. May 4. An officer spoke with the boy and his babysitter, and the boy agreed to go inside for the evening.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICES

A pharmacist reported that he filled a prescription at 8:35 p.m. May 3 and then learned the prescription was a fake. A video of the offender will be forwarded to an officer for follow up.

DISTURBANCE

Officers responded to a report of people fighting at 1:40 a.m. May 6 in a room at . When the officers entered the room, they found a man lying on the kitchen floor with his face swollen and nose bleeding. Another person was found on the floor of the bedroom with redness and swelling to his face. Both were intoxicated. One was transported to Condell Hospital and the other to Northwest Community Hospital. An officer will follow up once they are released.

DRUGS

Hannah N. Scott, 18, of the 1-100 block of Somerset Lane, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at 2:45 p.m. May 4 on the 1100 block of Windbrooke Drive.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A resident of the 1100 block of Johnson Drive reported that he parked his car and locked it at 9 p.m. May 5. When he returned to the car at 11:30 a.m. May 6, he found the sunroof open and the windows halfway down. Nothing was missing from the car.

THEFT

A resident reported four unauthorized charges were made with her debit card between May 1 and May 4. The charges totaled $233.17 and all were made in Gurnee. The resident still has her card in her possession.

A resident of the 2400 block of Waterbury Lane reported that someone used her credit card to make four unauthorized charges, two in Chicago and two in Indiana, between April 22 and May 6.

VANDALISM

A resident of the 1-100 block of Wakefield lane reported that someone spray-painted her mailbox and sidewalk between 8 p.m. May 4 and 11:25 a.m. May 5. The paint formed the word “meow” on the mailbox and a cat’s head on the ground.
