Police Blotter: Suspicious Furnace Company Calls Resident

ARRESTS 

Maria G. Gutierrez-Alonso, 24, of the 100 block of Crystal Street, Elgin, was arrested on a warrant and also charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license at 1:55 p.m. Jan. 14 near Checker Road and Arbor Gate Lane.

Daniel R. Benjamin, 35, of the 300 block of Elm Street, Glen Ellyn, was charged with disorderly contact at 8:55 a.m. Jan. 15 on the 0-100 block of Raupp Boulevard.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A resident reported receiving a phone call Jan. 15 from a company asking if she wanted to set up a service appointment for her furnace. The resident tried to contact the company later and was unable to reach it. When she  eventually spoke with someone using another phone number, they had no history of the appointment. The resident was advised to contact the police if the anyone comes to her house for the furnace issue.

We miss Pete Lippert! Ever since he left, either the police department is less active, or the reporting of their activity appears to be lacking.
