Police Blotter: Man Takes Advantage of 'Free Beer Truck'

ALCOHOL

A complainant reported an intoxicated man drinking beer from a pitcher at noon Oct. 11 behind a building on the 300 block of Weiland Road. An officer located the man, who was intoxicated and was transported to the hospital by paramedics. It appeared that a refrigerated beer truck had been left unlocked. It was secured.

ANIMAL STORIES

A resident of the 700 block of Golfview Terrace found a gray cat in her backyard and turned it over to an officer. The cat did not have a collar, tag or chip and was transported to Kings Kennel.

BURGLARY

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle on the 200 block of Windsor Drive between 5 p.m. Oct. 9 and 9 a.m. Oct. 11 and removed $30 in loose change from a tray.

COMPLIANCE

A investigator and an underage agent visited 16 liquor license holders between 12:30 and 3:30 Oct. 10 and attempted to make purchases. None of the establishments sold alcohol to the underage agent.

COMPLAINT

A complainant stated that he was cut off by a vehicle at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 11 in the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Deerfield Parkway. An officer called the registered owner who stated that he made a left turn onto Milwaukee Avenue from a strip mall. He stated that he thought he had enough room to make the turn but the complainant was speeding so fast that it became close. No complaints were signed.

A complainant reported that unknown people made disparaging and threatening remarks about him Oct. 5 on Buffalo Grove Patch. An officer read the remarks and found no threats.

A complainant stated that he sent two wire transfers in the amount of $123,000 between Aug. 29 and Aug. 30 to obtain a 2012 vehicle from a business on the 1-100 block of East Dundee Road. When the complainant called he was given a number of reasons why the car had not been delivered. The complainant and the dealership are in the process of working the issue out.

FOUND ITEM

An officer saw a bike lying in a parking lot of the 1-100 block of North McHenry Road at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 and it was still there in the afternoon. The silver Mongoose Orbit bike was placed into property at the police station.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

A resident reported a black pickup truck with three occupants was parked at 2:25 p.m. Oct. 10 in the cul-de-sac on the 900 block of Port Clinton Court West. One of the occupants got out of the truck and was walking near a neighbor’s home. An officer contacted the registered owner who stated that her son was out with the truck and she would have the son call the officer when he returned. The son called and stated that he and his friends were playing Frisbee golf around the neighborhood. He was advised to use in the future. The other parents were notified of the police contact.
